Following its acquisition of Rohde & Schwarz Professional Mobile Radio, Hytera has announced the new division will be known as Hytera Mobilfunk. The company also plans to expand the former Rohde and Schwarz base in Bad Münder, Germany, to become the European headquarters of the Hytera corporate group. Hytera Mobilfunk will be responsible for sales and marketing as well as for the maintenance and repair of the entire product range of Hytera in Europe. The new division will develop its established TETRA radio system Accessnet-T IP further at the Bad Münder location (pictured above). As a competence centre for future TETRA and LTE-based broadband solutions, the company will integrate its entire development of customized state-of-the-art PMR systems into the Hytera corporate group. “We consider Hytera the optimum new owner due to its strong position in the Chinese and Asian markets, and also due to the complementing product portfolio”, said Dr Georg Haubs, chief executive officer of Hytera Mobilfunk.
