Hytera Mobilfunk has boosted its research and development activity with the acquisition of wireless protocol specialists, Fjord-E-Design (FED), based in Flensburg, Germany. 

The acquisition will add longstanding experience in the development of TETRA and TEDS protocol stacks as well as TETRA measurement technology to the company. 

Dr Georg Haubs, managing director of Hytera Mobilfunk, sees multiple synergies for the customers of both companies: “The acquisition of FED is an important step for Hytera Mobilfunk to accelerate the further development of the TETRA portfolio towards TETRA-2/TEDS as well as LTE.
