Stockholm’s city transport authority has ordered 1000 new TETRA radios from Sepura to update voice and data communications within its tram and light rail operations. The contract was awarded by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL), the public transport authority for the greater Stockholm area, to Swedish Radio Supply, Sepura’s partner in Sweden. SRS will supply 250 radios for trams and 750 aboard trains, to help serve the 1·1 million people who use the Stockholm public transport network daily. The new radios will be used to transmit both voice and data traffic across SL’s TETRA network. The data will consist primarily of automatic vehicle location (AVL) information. SRS has provided a complete package by bringing together two Stockholm-based suppliers: TBT, which is responsible for installation and maintenance, and LS Electronics, which will develop a new user interface panel. Installation work is due to be completed by June 2012. “This project will securely deliver data which will help in all aspects of SL’s operations, not the least of which is the improvement in customer service”, said Johnny Dahlquist, of SRS. “We are already the leading supplier of terminals on to the nationwide RAKEL network, with a significant number of military and emergency services customers using Sepura radios, and we are delighted that Swedish transport agencies are also now migrating to TETRA and Sepura.” (中国集群通信网 | 责任编辑:陈晓亮) |
