Rescue services covering 27 municipalities in Sweden’s capital city are to receive new TETRA terminals, in the largest order of its kind in the country. Four Stockholm fire brigades are to receive 850 TETRA terminals together with accessories and services under a four-year contract with Celab, a digital radio partner of Motorola Solutions. The radios will enable the fire services to move easily to digital communications on the nationwide Rakel emergency network. The delivery will also includes the integrated Terminal Management (iTM) system from Motorola. This will make it possible to manage the software and configuration of all the radio terminals efficiently from a central location. “Fire services in Sweden are aiming towards a modernization of their communications technology”, said Kent Lundqvist, of Greater Stockholm Fire Services. “Following a competitive tender that included extensive trials, we selected Motorola’s digital TETRA terminal solutions and services. Motorola’s intuitive devices offer our personnel superior sound and voice quality.” The contract provides for services and consultancy by Motorola and Celab, including training, technical support, programming of terminals as well as set-up and management of a web-based ordering system.
