Date: 08th October 2012 A TETRA network is being installed in the Aktobe province of Kazakhstan, for the Kazakhstan State Railway organization, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy. The new installation will replace analogue radios along 150 km of track on the Kandyagash to Nikaltau line. It will be used for voice communications and for data applications for train signalling and telemetry. The TETRA equipment, an Accessnet-T IP TETRA radio system by Hytera Mobilfunk, has been ordered by ASK NT, a Kazakhstan company specializing in secure communication. It includes eight base stations, a central IP Node for switching and connection to applications, and a comprehensive network management system. Deployment will be completed by the end of 2012.
