For yet another major international sporting event in China, a large TETRA network by Cassidian has provided secure communications support. Held in August in Shenzhen, the 26th World University Games attracted more than 7800 student athletes from 152 countries and regions across the world to compete in 24 sports categories. During the 12-day Universiade, an emergency response network supplied by Cassidian – the largest 350?MHz TETRA network in China – provided communications to 41 competition and 22 training venues and associated hotels. On the day of the inaugural ceremony of the Universiade, August 12, it registered 1·84 million calls. Covering the whole Shenzhen area, the Shenzhen 350?MHz City Emergency Response Digital Trunking Network is equipped with two switches, 87 base stations and 110 dispatching workstations. The network is also the first TETRA network in China to be fully integrated with all public safety command and control centres. Also playing a part in the event was a TETRA network supplied by Cassidian for the Shenzhen Metro. In preparation for the Universiade, the Metro’s infrastructure had been enlarged with five new lines extending to an additional 178·8 kilometres were put in place. The TETRA network provided interconnected, seamless communication (中国集群通信网 | 责任编辑:陈晓亮) |
