Also establishing a presence in North America is TETRA terminal manufacturer Sepura, which has appointed Nielson Communications as its first distributor in the US.

The companies have developed a growing partnership through their collaboration on a 12-month TETRA trial, inaugurated in January 2011, at Nielson’s home base in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This trial, the first of its kind in the US, comprised three IP-connected base stations relaying voice and data communications through Sepura handportable radios. It allowed prospective users to experience and evaluate TETRA technology in action.
