Enhanced security features added by MiMOMax Wireless to its Network Digital Link (NDL) include firewall and data encryption options. The MiMOMax NDL is a point-to-point narrowband fixed link system for private mobile radio applications in public safety and transport, including conventional and trunked P25, TETRA, DMR and MPT networks. Offering very high spectrum efficiency and low latency, it can achieve raw data rates up to 320?kbit/s in a 25?kHz channel. The newly released firewall security feature prevents illegitimate data packets from entering the network and it controls which data is transmitted across select interface zones. The data encryption security feature applies to non-over-the-air data (HTTP/SNMP/MiMOMax CCMS). It is based on the AES 128/256 encryption standard and is compliant with standard SSL/TLS (AES) libraries. Together, the MiMOMax NDL firewall and data encryption features save costs by eliminating the need for third-party equipment. But more importantly, they increase network security, protecting the network from hackers and provide high integrity and reliable communications. “Hackers’ growing sophistication makes network security and robustness imperative to maintain high quality, reliable and safe communications”, commented Paul Daigneault, managing director of MiMOMax.
