As work continued in Germany to complete Europe’s biggest TETRA radio network, the annual PMRExpo exhibition and conference in Cologne provided an opportunity to see and discuss the latest technology and services for professional mobile radio users

Taking place for the tenth time, November’s PMRExpo in Cologne attracted record attendances. More than 2900 professional visitors arrived to see 177 exhibitors from 14 countries. The organizers also recorded over 400 registrations for the two-day colloquium on professional radio communications and over 500 for a conference on command and control centres.

A new feature this year was an application forum in which companies could deliver presentations in German or English. With Germany’s BOS national public safety network now in the later stages of deployment, TETRA products and services were a prominent feature of PMRExpo, and some of them are outlined below. In 2011, the event will again take place in Cologne, November 22–24.
