In New Delhi, India, mobile workers carrying TETRA radios and GPRS-based mobile phones have been enjoying the benefits of state-of-the-art communications technology, including mission-critical image transfer, alerting and instant messaging, and mobile querying for information retrieval. The applications are the work of the mobile data specialist Portalify, which was selected to provide the Indian Parliament with a data service platform technology to run over a TETRA network in New Delhi. They enable field workers and control room staff to perform mission-critical public safety and security operations over the high-capacity Cassidian TETRA network. Through Portalify’s Data Management Server (DMS), the Indian Parliament has been able to run data applications effectively over both the Cassidian TETRA network and commercial mobile networks, and to deliver critical information to the point of need. The applications operate over DMS as a network-agnostic platform. In addition, through its Secure Client product, Portalify has provided fully-customizable user interfaces for a range of devices. In the case of TETRA, the applications were deployed on advanced Java-based radio-handsets, but similar solutions are also available for WAP push and TETRA SDS platforms. Portalify explains that the benefits of the technology it has provided include full optimization for fast and efficient data transfer over the TETRA network, coupled with flexible solutions designed to meet the needs of different field workers. DMS-based solutions such as those used by the Indian Parliament, the company says, enable efficient access by field workers to back-end applications, legacy IT systems, information systems, situational awareness and command and control systems. Multi-user information can be shared and responses co-ordinated to different public safety and security users over multiple networks and devices. (中国集群通信网 | 责任编辑:陈晓亮) |
