Pagers are coming to users of the UK’s Airwave network, through a five-year framework and supply agreement with the Irish company Sigma Wireless for its ComAlerter Tetra Messaging System. The ComAlerter is an innovative two-way messaging device equipped with GPS functionality. Sigma jointly designed it with Isle Systems, a specialist in lone worker systems and personal safety. Richard Bobbett, chief executive officer of Airwave, said: “Airwave is continually seeking to identify and partner with innovative companies, which forms part of our commitment to deliver quality products that fill a gap in the market and that deliver true, quantifiable benefits to our customers.” Sigma Wireless will carry out device assembly and system integration activities from its 5000 m² headquarters in Finglas, Dublin.
