Wataniya International, the regional mobile network operator in the Middle East has announced that it has increased its investment in Saudi Arabia''s telecommunications market, increasing its share in Bravo, the Kingdom''s only iDEN network, to 47%.

"Bravo has been a tremendous success with the business segment in the Kingdom. We are keen to continue investing in Saudi Arabia''s dynamic and fast-growing market, where the combination of sound governance, a clear regulatory regime and strong market demand create an environment where we believe investment in new market opportunities makes tremendous sense," said Ahmad Haleem, Chief Executive Officer for Wataniya International.

Bravo won a fifteen years contract to "Build, Operate, Transfer" only wireless push to talk service in the Kingdom and Wataniya International is the manager of that operation.

Bravo was launched in July 2005.

Bravo''s network, is being rolled out in three phases, has already commenced with coverage of the following areas: Mecca, Medina, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Dhahran, including the Mecca-Jeddah highway. The next two phases will see the roll out to more cities and highways resulting in kingdom wide coverage.
